Art Shows
The ArtSpace Gallery Series is supported in part by the DC Commission on the Arts and Humanities and the National Endowment for the Arts. The series was started in June 2007 to support youth, local and emerging artists. Throughout the week the gallery is our one common gathering area for workshops and hosts our fiber arts, graffiti, painting and pottery handbuilding classes among others.
One to two times a month the space is transformed into a gallery with clean white and black walls, track lighting and hanging system. The ArtSpace puts its modest resources behind each show providing low cost copy work, printing and presentation but relies on the artist to hang and publicize the exhibit. The ArtSpace takes just a 25% commission on sales and offers secure credit card transactions during the event. All exhibitions are one night only and artists need to have a pick update arranged for their artwork before the close of the exhibition.
