Darkroom Photography
Instructor: Khrystyna Khristianova
Costs: $165 (includes materials and some film to get started)
This course has been designed for students who are interested in learning the technical aspects of chemical photography. This is a fine art class where students will be introduced to the materials and processes of black&white photography. It will cover camera operations, film processing, enlargement printing, and presentation methods; students will expose, develop and print all of their own images. This class will be focused on building strong technical skills as well as strong conceptual works of art. Students will use their newly acquired skills to address issues concerned with the visual language of photography. In-class presentations and critiques will help students to verbally communicate the visual strength and weaknesses in the prints.
All the necessary materials will be provided but students will also be encouraged to obtain their own film and paper for ongoing practice. Cameras are available for use during the class.
