My son and I used to feed the horses in the mornings before the days occupied by school. His favorite horse was Papa Shnagums (I am positive that I misspelled that name). My son was so upset when that little horse retired to a more quiet life in Virginia. I think it was one of the first times he dealt with the idea of loss.

My favorite horse is still there, in the last stall of the ring side row, he has quite the personality. It is a nice quiet place up there and you forget for a spell that you are in the urban setting of Washington, DC.
