The Mocha Ground is featuring ArtSpace photography from neighborhood youth and those enrolled at New Community for Children. There are also several pieces from their instructor.
Stop by the coffee house for one of their excellent breakfasts and meet some of the friendliest staff in the city.

Hello friends,
We are doing some renovations to two of our favorite open studio spots, the darkroom and the pottery room. Both will be back in action for the next open studio on September 1.

Our website recorded its 600th visitor this past week and we thought that was cause for a big thanks to New Community Church, New Community for Children and to all our funders, volunteers, artists, supporters and patrons for bringing such energy and life to the space.

New Community ArtSpace will celebrate the culmination of our summer community classes this Saturday with an exhibition of artwork created in workshops and open studio.

The stunningly talented trio is making their second stop at New Community on Sunday, August 10, 2008. Earlier this year they played the Kennedy Center and are blessing the intimate space of the New Community Church with a special summer show.

This is a once in an ArtSpace event. The famed George Bucher will be making a rare Washington, D.C. appearance. George Bucher, the banjomaker, sculptor, musician, storyteller will be performing music and selling art work that’ll throw you back to a time when gin was made in a bathtub and music was played on the front porch.
